Ingredients
  

  • 3–4 large sweet onions such as Vidalia, sliced into thick rings
  • 2 cups shredded cheese blend cheddar, mozzarella, and Monterey Jack recommended
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • optional fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Arrange thick onion slices in a single layer in the baking dish.
  • Drizzle melted butter evenly over the onions.
  • Sprinkle garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the onions.
  • Top generously with the shredded cheese blend, covering all the onions.
  • Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the onions are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot as a side dish.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of Parmesan or a dash of hot sauce before baking. Use a mix of your favorite cheeses for a unique twist. Best served fresh and hot.
