Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure the butter is soft but not melted.
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

Mix-Ins

  • 2 cups chocolate chips (or any preferred mix-ins) Feel free to add extra chocolate chips or nuts for different textures.
  • Sprinkles or icing for decoration (optional) Use for decoration after baking.

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
  • Stir in the chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.

Cooling and Decorating

  • Allow to cool and decorate with sprinkles or icing if desired.

Notes

To keep your Christmas cookies fresh, store them in an airtight container. You can keep them at room temperature for about a week. For longer storage, you can freeze them, just make sure they are well-wrapped or in a freezer-safe container.
