  • 3 pieces eggs Room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Can substitute with other extracts
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • to taste as needed Powdered sugar for dusting Optional

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, mixing until smooth.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

Serve the cake plain or dusted with powdered sugar. It pairs nicely with tea or coffee, and you can add fresh fruit or whipped cream on the side.
