Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder For a richer taste, consider using dark cocoa powder.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted Use room temperature butter for best results.
  • 2 large eggs Use room temperature eggs for better mixing.
  • 1 cup whole milk Substitute with almond milk or other milk alternatives if desired.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, and baking powder.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, eggs, and milk until well combined.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fill each muffin cup about 2/3 full with the batter.

Baking

  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Let cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Dust with powdered sugar, drizzle with chocolate sauce, or serve with whipped cream. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or freeze for longer storage.
