  • 1 piece ripe banana Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and moisture.
  • ½ cup sugar Adjust for sweetness if desired.
  • 1 piece egg
  • ¼ cup melted butter Can be substituted with a dairy-free alternative.
  • ¼ cup milk Substitute with almond milk or coconut milk for dairy-free version.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp baking soda

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth.
  • Add the sugar, egg, melted butter, milk, and vanilla to the bowl, and mix until well combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.

Baking

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can serve Banana Cake warm or at room temperature. It’s delicious on its own or topped with ice cream, whipped cream, or fresh fruit. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top for decoration. To store, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for up to a week or freeze for up to 3 months.
